Blue Line Resuming Service Monday Morning
Commuters may need to allow for extra time as the MBTA restores service following a nine-alarm fire in the Orient Heights neighborhood.

The MBTA will resume Blue Line service at its usual start time Monday morning, but commuters may need to allow for extra time while repairs potentially linger into the start of the work week.
The Blue Line was partially closed during the nine-alarm fire at an East Boston casket factory Friday afternoon. The tracks at Orient Heights suffered significant flooding, damaging signal and power equipment, the MBTA said.
Bus shuttles were in effect through Sunday night as repair work was administered. The MBTA is asking commuters to allow for extra time Monday morning should the work persist.
