BMC HealthNet Plan delivers care kits to Boston Health Care for the Homeless

Kits include travel-size toiletries and first-aid items

BMC HealthNet Plan Community Outreach team delivered 70 care kits to the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program in July. Each bag includes travel-size shower supplies (soap, loofa, shampoo and conditioner), a toothbrush and toothpaste, a package of bandaids, a comb, hand sanitizer and chapstick.

Ariane Kassirer, Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program Director, thanked the BMC HealthNet Plan team by saying “Everyone here is blown away, [the kits] are full of incredible items for our patients!”

“We want to help our community members be healthy, but other barriers such as lack of shelter often get in the way,” said Petrina Cherry, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at BMC HealthNet Plan/Well Sense Health Plan. “That’s why we focus on lifting up the communities we serve by providing so much more than traditional medical care and support. These supplies can make their lives easier and more comfortable – which is ultimately the best way to improve the health of a community. Serving the homeless and underserved communities is an ongoing initiative for us and we’re thrilled to work with organizations that share the same strong commitment.”
