The teens were crossing the street when a sedan lost control and hit them.

BOSTON, MA – A serious crash in Boston sent two teenagers to the hospital Tuesday morning. Police responded around 11 a.m. to a report of a car that had crashed into a pole at the intersection of Tremont Street and Columbus Avenue, according to reports. The area was shut down while crews responded to the scene.

The teens, 15 and 16 years old, were hospitalized with serious injuries, Boston 25's Courtney Spinelli reported. One is reportedly in critical condition.

The teens were among a group of four who were in the crosswalk at Malcolm X. Boulevard and Columbus Avenue when a white sedan lost control, hit two of the children and crashed into a utility pole in the median, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans told the Boston Globe.
