Boston Lead Singer Tommy DeCarlo Has Died
The singer who took over in 2007 after Brad Delp died has also died at the age of 60.

Tommy DeCarlo, the singer who led the band Boston in 2007 after their original vocalist died, has also passed away.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Dad, Tommy DeCarlo, on Monday, March 9th, 2026," DeCarlo's children posted to Facebook.
"After being diagnosed with brain cancer last September, he fought with incredible strength and courage right up until the very end," the post said.

Before joining the band, DeCarlo was a childhood fan of the pop group, according to Rolling Stone.
"A self-taught piano player and choir vocalist, he grew up listening to Boston, and credited original singer Brad Delp with helping him discover his own voice," a Rolling Stone story said.

When Boston singer Brad Delp, a native of Peabody, died by suicide, DeCarlo stepped in to replace him, the U.S. Sun reported.
"Tommy was working at The Home Depot when he got a call from Boston founding member Tom Scholz, inviting him to join them on the road," per the Sun.
"I never had a voice lesson, but I tell people that I learned from Brad Delp by singing along to Boston’s music on the radio and their albums," DeCarlo told the Southwest Times Record newspaper in 2014. "I feel very blessed to be able to be a part of such a huge band, and I’ll do this for as long as Tom Scholz will have me.I have no regrets in life, except that I never got to meet and sing with Brad Delp.
In December, DeCarlo's family set up a GoFundMe to support him in his recovery. It has raised more than $56,000.
"In late September, Dad suffered a sudden brain bleed and underwent an emergency craniotomy. During surgery, doctors discovered two melanoma masses on his brain and another spot on his lungs," the GoFundMe said.
"Our Dad is strong," it said. "He is a fighter. And he’s giving this battle everything he’s got — but he needs your help on this one."
