Boston Man Arrested After 3 Robberies In 4 Days

BOSTON, MA — A man is facing charges in connection with three armed robberies that took place over several days last week, according to the Boston Police Department.

John Kennedy, 38, of Dorchester, was arrested at approximately 8:15 p.m. Wednesday near 13 Westcott St. after an investigation by officers and detectives. At the time of his arrest, Kennedy was also wanted on two warrants issued out of Suffolk Superior Court and Lawrence District Court on charges including armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny from a person and strangulation.

The first robbery took place at approximately 7:59 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, near 124 Harvard St. Police said the suspect allegedly brandished a knife and fled with approximately $250. The address has previously been identified by Boston Police as the location of a convenience store and has been the site of unrelated robbery investigations in the past.

Later that night, officers responded at approximately 9:23 p.m. to Community Convenience at 44 Norfolk St. for another reported armed robbery. The store was allegedly robbed at knifepoint before the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money. Boston Police previously identified the business as Community Convenience following an unrelated robbery there in September 2025.

A third robbery took place at approximately 5:52 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, near 613 Park St. Police said the suspect allegedly assaulted a store employee before fleeing with approximately $1,500. The same address was the site of an unrelated armed robbery in October 2024, when a suspect reportedly displayed a firearm and stole $600 from a cash register.

Kennedy is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court and is additionally charged with armed robbery and trespassing.
