Boston Man Killed In Hit-And-Run: Police Looking For Witnesses
A 40-year-old was struck on Morton Street in Mattapan shortly after midnight.

BOSTON, MA — A 40-year-old man died in a hit-and-run in Mattapan just after midnight. The pedestrian, was struck by a car on Morton Street around 12:03 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car continued traveling west on Morton Street, said State Police.
Detectives are looking for a taxi driver who may have witnessed the collision or anyone else with information on the vehicle involved, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said.

“The taxi driver is sought as a witness only and is not accused of any wrongdoing,” Conley emphasized, asking him or her to come forward.
The body of a man was found in the right travel lane after a 911 call just after midnight. His name is being withheld while family notifications are under way.

Witnesses told investigators that a white taxi cab was among the cars in the area at around the time of the incident. Based on those statements and video footage that shows the cab without any of the damage that would have been consistent with the collision or the physical evidence at the scene, investigators are confident it was not involved in the collision.
Police are asking the driver – or anyone else with information on the collision, no matter how minor it may seem – to contact the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.
