BOSTON, MA — A 22-year-old man from Boston has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wyoming lighting strike at a campsite last week.

John Murphy was camping with the National Outdoor Leadership School in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in northwestern Wyoming last Tuesday when the lighting strike occurred. Murphy went into cardiac arrest after the strike, and a second person was injured, the Associated Press reported.

The report did not say if the lightning bolt directly hit Murphy, or if he was nearby an object that was.
