Bruegger's Bagels Data Breach Exposed Credit Card Information

All 17 Massachusetts locations were potentially affected, the company said.

MELROSE, MA — A data breach at Breugger's Bagels could have exposed customers' credit card information, the company said Thursday. All 17 Bruegger's locations across Massachusetts were on Bruegger's list of potentially affected locations.

Bruegger's said it noticed unusual activity on its network Nov. 28. Two days later, a cybersecurity firm reported "unauthorized access to our point of sale systems, exposing some of our customers’ data," Bruegger's President Tyler Ricks said in a letter.

Bruegger's said whoever made purchase at the potentially affected locations between Aug. 28, 2018, and Dec. 3, 2018, might have had personal information including their name and full credit card information accessed. Those who may be affected are encouraged to review their credit card purchases and reach out to their credit card company if they notice anything off.
