The Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation will host its Honorary Awards Dinner featuring three recipients and a fundraising component supporting FourBlock, a nonprofit that helps service members transition from the military into meaningful civilian careers. The event will include a cocktail reception, presentation of colors by English High School Junior ROTC, dinner and the award presentation. Proceeds will benefit FourBlock. The Honorary Awards Dinner is a signature event for the HFCU Charitable Foundation that brings together community leaders, veterans’ advocates, and others to celebrate service and support veteran transition programs.
HFCU President and CEO Peter Rice will present the Brigadier General Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse II Leadership Award to Major General Gary W. Keefe, adjutant general of the Massachusetts National Guard, for his leadership and service to veterans. The Minuteman Award will be presented to US Army Colonel (Ret.) and former Massachusetts Secretary of Veterans Services Cheryl Lussier Poppe in recognition of her 30-year military career and continued dedication to veterans, including initiatives such as the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program and the Women Veterans Network.
The inaugural James T. Brett Community Service Award will be presented to James T. Brett, president and CEO of The New England Council, recognizing his longstanding leadership in advancing economic opportunity, public policy, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities. Additional community and veteran leaders will also be in attendance.
