Mayor Thomas P. Koch and the City of Quincy invite everyone to attend Quincy's Annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, honoring the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The parade will begin at Quincy High School, proceed up Russell Park and turn right onto Hancock Street. Participants will pause at the World War I Monument for a wreath-laying ceremony honoring fallen service members before continuing to the World War II Memorial at the corner of Southern Artery and Hancock Street in upper Merrymount Park, where the ceremony will take place.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Quincy High School Auditorium.

The keynote speaker of the ceremony is Lieutenant Commander James Flaherty, United States Navy (Retired).

Flaherty retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2024 following 30 years of military service. His career included three active-duty mobilizations and overseas assignments in the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, and Djibouti. He received numerous military honors, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Joint Service Commendation Medal.

He has also dedicated nearly three decades to the Quincy Police Department, where he currently serves as a Captain and Commander of Special Operations.
