Clouds, Rain Dominate Extended Massachusetts Weather Forecast

Say goodbye to the sun for the foreseeable future.

That Fall weather is about to begin in earnest.

The temperatures won't dip too precipitously - highs will still be in the mid-60s to low-70s - but it's going to look a lot more miserable. Clouds and rain dominate the next two weeks worth of forecasts.

For nearly every region in Massachusetts, weather.com's extended forecasts don't offer a glimmer of sunshine until Monday, Oct. 9. By then, the sun will be setting at 6:10 p.m., Tom Brady will be starting for the Patriots, and the Red Sox could be out of the playoffs or in the championship series.

In the short term, this weekend is likely to get chilly and bring some much-needed rain. Almost every day until Oct. 9 carries with it a legitimate threat of rain, which may end up being good news as we continue to be throttled with an extreme drought, prompting voluntary and mandatory water restrictions all around the Bay State.
