Dangerous Heat, Humidity Headed To Massachusetts To End The Week

Extreme heat and humidity are back in the forecast for Massachusetts. Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s to end the week, with feel like temperatures over 100 degrees.

The humidity will move in first on Tuesday, though temperatures aren't expected to be higher than the low 80s. The heat will arrive Wednesday, climbing to the 90s, with the heat index near or over 100 for much of the state. Thursday is expected to be the peak of the potential heat wave, with maximum heat indices near 110 degrees in some parts of the state.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, along with an excessive heat watch on Thursday. The advisory includes all of Massachusetts, except for the Cape and islands.
