East Boston Store Sells $4 Million Winning Lottery Ticket

BOSTON, MA — An East Boston store sold a winning ticket worth $4 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Blue Maple Nominee Trust of 2026 of Quincy won a $4 million grand prize playing the Massachusetts State Lottery's "Strike It Rich" scratch ticket game. According to the MSL, the trust, represented by trustee Patricia Novak, chose the cash option on its prize and received a one-time payment of $2.6 million before taxes.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mobil on 470 Meridian St. in East Boston. The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. "Strike It Rich" is a $10 scratch ticket that launched in May with three $4 million top prizes and six $1 million prizes. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 3.52. The trust is the first person or entity to claim one of the game's $4 million grand prizes, leaving two remaining.

Players can win by matching their numbers to a winning number or by revealing one of several symbols. Multiplier symbols can increase a prize by 2X, 5X, 10X, 20X, or 100X, while another symbol wins all 15 prizes shown on the ticket. The game also includes three bonus spots that can automatically win $50, $100, or $200. The $4 million grand prize can be paid as $200,000 a year for 20 years, while the game's $1 million prizes can be paid as $50,000 a year for 20 years.
