Egg Prices Could Continue To Climb In Massachusetts Due To Bird Flu, With Some Stores Setting Limits

READING - The combination of bird flu and inflation might drive up egg prices in Massachusetts by another 20% in 2025, according to experts.

Overall, food prices are only expected to go up by 2.2% but now, some states that escaped the avian flu outbreak last year are getting hit. The virus killed more than 17 million egg-laying hens in November and December.

In diners and on store shelves, consumers have started seeing the impact of bird flu spreading across the country, making the scramble for eggs a real challenge for shoppers.
