Explosion In East Boston Sends 1 To Hospital, Weapons Found

The FBI are investigating after there was an explosion at a house in east Boston. Law enforcement say a rifle was also located at the home.

BOSTON, MA — An explosion at a triple-decker home in East Boston early Sunday morning left one man with second-degree burns to his legs in critical condition, police told reporters.

Although it's still unclear just what caused the blast, the injured man is considered a person of interest in the incident, police said.

Commissioner William Evans told reporters Sunday that after the fire department put out the fire in the second floor unit, police found weapons, including an assault rifle, inside the home at 88 Webster St.
