Fortune 500: 16 MA Companies Make List
How many of these big-money companies do you recognize?

It hasn't been a banner couple of years for General Electric since moving to Massachusetts. Still, the powerhouse company is by far the Bay State's top company in the Fortune 500.
Fortune Magazine released its annual list of the 500 top companies in America, which represent two-thirds of the U.S. GDP and have a total of $13.7 trillion in revenue, the magazine says. Of those 500 companies, 16 are based in Massachusetts. An additional 18 fell short, but still made the top 1,000.
Fortune said it ranks companies by total revenue. GE pulled in roughly three times what second-place Liberty Mutual earned.
