Free Speech Rally, Counter Rally: Arrests Include Assault And Battery With A Knife, Unlawful Possession Of A Firearm
A total of 33 people were arrested during Saturday's Free Speech Rally and counter-protest, according to the Boston Police Department.

BOSTON, MA — While Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said 99.9 percent of the people at Saturday's counter-protest to the Free Speech Rally behaved well, some people were taken into custody during the event at Boston Common.
A total of 33 people were arrested Saturday, according to the Boston Police Department. Among the arrested were three people who were charged with assault and battery with a knife and a juvenile charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
"In the days leading up today’s event, both Mayor Walsh and Commissioner Evans asked, encouraged and urged all those attending today’s events to be on their best behavior and to embrace nonviolence over violence. Thankfully, the majority of those attending did just that. Unfortunately, not everybody understood the importance of good behavior," Boston police said in a statement on their website.
