Japanese Lifestyle Store Launching Boston Location This Week

BOSTON, MA — TESO Life will celebrate the opening of its first New England location on Friday with three days of giveaways and gifts for customers at its newest store.

The Japanese lifestyle retailer will open June 26 at 459 Washington St. in Downtown Crossing. The grand opening celebration runs through June 28 and includes free merchandise with qualifying purchases, while supplies last.

Customers who make any purchase during the event will receive a free Monkey Fan. Those who spend $50 or more will receive a Monkey Fan and snack bag, while shoppers spending $100 or more will receive a Monkey Fan, Monkey Keychain and a surprise gift bag.

TESO Life is also hosting giveaways on Instagram and TikTok during opening weekend. One winner from each platform will receive a Pocky insulated bag, a Pocky tumbler, and a $50 gift card.

To enter, participants must follow the business on Instagram or TikTok, like the giveaway post, and tag another user in the comments. The giveaway ends Sunday, June 28, and winners must claim their prizes in person at the Boston store.

Founded in 2017, TESO Life operates stores across the United States offering Japanese and Asian snacks, beverages, beauty products, skincare, stationery, anime merchandise, plush toys, collectibles, and home goods. The company says its stores are designed to introduce customers to Japanese culture through a wide selection of imported products and everyday essentials.

The Boston location is the company's first in New England and occupies the former Forever 21 storefront in Downtown Crossing. The opening comes as several retailers have expanded into the neighborhood in recent months, as the city works to strengthen downtown retail.

TESO Life will be open seven days per week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
