Jim Braude, 'Greater Boston' Host, To Leave Show After 2022: Report
Braude, 73, will continue to co-host Boston Public Radio with Margery Eagan, according to reports.

BOSTON, MA — Jim Braude, political journalist and host of GBH News show "Greater Boston," will step down from his role on the public affairs show at year's end, according to multiple reports.
"I can confirm that Jim will be leaving his role as host f Greater Boston at the end of this year," Pam Johnston, general manager for news at GBH, said in a statement to the Boston Globe. "This was his decision and we are thrilled to know he will continue to co-host Boston Public Radio with Margery [Eagan] going forward."
Braude, 73, will leave the show when his contract expires at the end of this year. Axios first reported the news.

Braude had hosted "Greater Boston" since 2015 when he replaced long-time host Emily Rooney. Alongside Eagen, whom he's worked with for 18 years, Braude has moderated many major election debates in Massachusetts, Axios reported.
Before joining WGBH, Braude hosted a political program on NECN and worked at WTKK radio.

Following law school, Braude worked as a legal services lawyer n the South Bronx, where he handled housing and prisoner rights cases, according to WGBH's website. He was the founder and first president of the National Organization of Legal Services Workers and served as the executive director of the Tax Equity Alliance for Massachusetts.
Braude was also a magazine publisher and Cambridge city councilor.
"Huge thanks to GBH for giving me this forum for the past near-decade," Braude said in an email to the Globe. "I've learned a lot from the thousands of conversations on Greater Boston and hope the people who tuned in have, too. But in the end, pandemic TV and I were just not a good match. So, see you on the radio."
