June 2021 Was The Warmest On Record In Boston

BOSTON, MA — If the last week was any indicator, June was a hot month in Massachusetts. Boston saw its warmest June on record.

Last month was the third time on record that Boston saw triple-digits in the month of June. The last time temperatures got that high was 1952.

The monthly average temperature for Boston is 68 degrees. This June was 74.4 degrees, breaking the previous record of 73.4 degrees set in 1976.

June was also unseasonably dry, recording more than an inch less precipitation than average. In a normal year, Boston sees about 3.89 inches of rain. Just 2.57 inches were recorded

this year.
