LEGO Building In Boston: Company Moving HQ From Connecticut
The LEGO Group will complete the move from Enfield, Conn., by 2026, the company said Tuesday.

BOSTON, MA — The LEGO Group is building something big in Massachusetts.
The Danish toy company will move its Americas headquarters to Boston in 2026 from its current base in Enfield, Conn.
LEGO Group already has a Boston office along Boylston Street. The company's employees will split their time between Enfield and the Boston office until the full move — expected to take about 18 months — is complete by 2026.

"Boston is ranked one of the best cities in the world to attract and retain talent. This, along with its world-class academic institutions, skilled workforce and great quality of life makes it an ideal location for our US head office," President of the LEGO Group in the Americas Skip Kodack said in a news release.
LEGO employs about 740 people at its Enfield office. The company will find a new location in Boston for all the employees. Those based in the Enfield area will be offered relocation assistance during the move, the company said.

The Connecticut LEGO operation opened in 1975, and the site halfway between Springfield and Hartford was previously the home of a LEGO factory. The company closed the plant in 2006 to move manufacturing to Mexico.
