Loaded Gun Found In Logan Airport Carry-On: TSA

TSA officials said the passenger, a 28-year-old Bridgewater man, was arrested.

BOSTON, MA – A Bridgewater man was arraigned on firearms charges in connection to a handgun recovered from his carry-on bag at Logan airport Wednesday morning. Transportation Security Administration officials on said agents found a loaded gun in the passenger's carry-on luggage. The Suffolk County DA's office later identified the suspect as 28-year-old Kyle P. Maguire.

The weapon was found around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning during a screening at a security checkpoint. Reports have indicated Maguire was headed to St. Louis. He was instead arrested and the gun was confiscated.

Maguire was charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm and possessing a weapon within a secure area of an airport, held on $5,000 bail, and ordered to return to court on Aug. 21.

Maguire does not have a license to carry in Massachusetts. The fine for attempting to bring a weapon through airport security is between $1,500 and $7,000.
