Logan Airport Searching For New Voice In Statewide Contest
This contest is on the verge of taking flight.
BOSTON, MA — Massachusetts residents are getting a chance to become the new voice heard throughout Boston Logan International Airport.
The Massachusetts Port Authority launched its "Voice of Logan" contest Monday, Sept. 14, giving residents until Sunday, Oct. 4 to submit a video audition for the chance to record public service announcements that will be broadcast throughout the airport's terminals. The contest is open to Massachusetts residents who are at least 18 years old.
To enter, contestants must record themselves reading a provided script and upload the video through the contest website, along with a brief statement explaining why they should be selected. The script reads:

"Welcome to Boston Logan International Airport—front door to the capital of heart, hustle, and hometown pride. This city runs on iced coffee, raw ambition, and unbeatable team spirit. So let’s go. Whether you’re grabbing a lobster roll by the harbor, waiting in line for a cannoli in the North End, heading out to Gloucester for a little salt air, or paying your respects to the Green Monster like it’s a sacred landmark (because it is)—we’re wicked glad you’re here.
Videos can be up to 60 seconds long and must be submitted in either MP4, MOV, or WebM format. Entries must feature only the contestant and their own voice, while the use of artificial intelligence, voice-altering technology, or other AI-generated elements is prohibited. Each contestant is limited to one entry.

Submissions will be judged with 40 percent of the score based on what Massport calls the Boston Logan "Vibe," followed by 20 percent each for clarity and smooth delivery. Another 10 percent will be based on authenticity and the remaining 10 percent on the contestant's explanation of why they want to represent Logan.
Up to five finalists are expected to be selected and notified beginning Thursday, Oct. 8. Those finalists will participate in a live audition on or around Monday, Oct. 19 in the Boston area, where they will be interviewed and recorded. Audio from the auditions will then be posted online for public voting from Saturday, Oct. 24 through Wednesday, Oct. 28.
The live audition score will make up 80 percent of each finalist's final total, while public voting will account for the remaining 20 percent. The finalist with the highest combined score will be named "The Voice of Logan," with the winner expected to be announced on or around Thursday, Nov. 5.
The winner will earn the "Voice of Logan" title and an opportunity to record public service announcements for use throughout the airport's terminals. More than 40 million travelers pass through Logan each year, and the eventual winner is expected to record greetings along with information about airport concessions and ground transportation options.
