MA Power Outages Expected As Flash Freeze Takes Hold
Heavy outages are possible when wind chills hit close to negative-20 and strong wind gusts blow through the region.

Weather and safety are warning officials are warning Massachusetts residents of the strong possibility of power outages as a flash freeze takes hold of the storm-battered region. The National Weather Service and Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency said all the precipitation that fell today will freeze over as temperatures get close to zero degrees and and wind chills dip to as low as minus-20.

The most recent forecast said temperatures around Boston will dip to about 3 degrees. Wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour will have it feel around negative-17 around Boston and negative-22 around Worcester. The Cape will feel the "warmest" at around negative-7. A wind chill warning is still in effect for several counties, while much of Eastern Mass. is under a wind chill advisory.
