The closings are part of a bankruptcy filing by Cineworld. The closings will save the company $22 million a year while it continues to work with landlords to preserve other theaters, according to Business Insider.

Cineworld's bankruptcy filing comes as the movie business struggles to bounce back from the pandemic. Regal theaters, the nation's second-largest chain, has suffered a significant downturn in box office sales.
