MA School Closings For Tuesday, March 13

BOSTON, MA — Folks were pulling the snow plow markers up, putting away their weather gear and then last week happened. One last snow hurrah, right? Well, by now you've seen the forecast. Another nor'easter is headed toward the state and the weathermen expect between a foot or two of the white stuff to blanket the region. And where there's snow, there's likely to be some cancelled school.

Cue the cheering or the sighing, depending on where you sit.

We've got what you need to know about who's got a snow day. But a quick look at the list (that's still growing) of schools that already called it as of 7 p.m. Monday and the real question is: Who hasn't called it yet?

The Forecast
There's a Winter Storm Warning in effect from March 12, 11:00 PM EDT until March 13, 08:00 PM EDT for much of the state.

The National Weather Service Forecasters expect a slight chance of rain showers before 9 p.m. Monday night, then snow in the Greater Boston area. The snow could be heavy at times with about 3 to 5 inches possible.

With Snow continuing Tuesday, heavy at times. High will be near 33. Breezy, with a northeast wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. By the end of the day 10 to 14 inches of new snow is possible.

Court leaders have determined that all Massachusetts Court locations will be closed on Tuesday, March 13th, due to the severity and timing of the forecasted storm, in the interest of public and staff safety.
