MA School Closings For Wednesday, March 14

Here's a look at the schools that are calling it for Wednesday.

BOSTON, MA — A handful of schools started calling snow days early this afternoon, but it was after a 4:15 p.m. press conference when Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced that schools would be closed March 14, that the cancellations really started coming in. When Boston calls it, many of the Greater Boston cites and towns follow suit.

As for what this means for those students who were planning to participate in the National School Walkout Day, Walsh indicated he thought many would make their way to the State House for a noon protest as planned using public transportation.

"I support the kids," he said.

The Forecast

The snow is expected to continue into the evening giving the Eastern part of the state as much as 21 inches of snow in some spots. Wednesday there's a slight chance of snow showers before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of rain showers after 2 p.m.. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.
