MA Spring, Summer Weather Forecast A Welcome Sight

Not that anyone will be complaining as long as the weather continues improving, but don't expect a traditional scorcher of a summer this year. It might continue to be a slow climb to beach weather, though.

The Weather Company over the weekend released a three-month outlook for late spring/early summer. It's tough to give bad news when talking about temperatures in the 70s and 80s, but the forecast starts with sour note, saying May will feature "near or slightly below average" temperatures in May.

"Given the significant impacts late-season snow cover can have, it is probably not surprising to find that anomalously snowy Aprils typically lead to colder Mays," said Dr. Todd Crawford, chief meteorologist with The Weather Company.

The Northeast should realize its reward for the winter by June, when temperatures will hover around or slightly above normal. That will stretch into July.

Specifics aside, it's just welcome news that spring and summer will indeed show up this year. This weekend ushered in some comfortable weather, and though rain is expected in the middle of the week, temperatures are expected to stay in the 50s and even 60s.
