MA Weather: Arctic Front Moving In, Single-Digit Wind Chills
A close to 40-degree swing in temperature from Friday morning to Friday night is expected.
An arctic front will bring a close to 40-degree temperature swing from morning to night Friday. Wind chills are expected to dip into the single digits tonight into early Saturday, with parts of Massachusetts feeling as cold as 1 degree.
The day is starting off as the best of the week. Afternoon high temperatures will top 50 degrees in the Boston area and other parts of Eastern Mass. But it won't last long.
"Enjoy it while you can because an arctic front moves through tonight followed by very cold wind chills late tonight and early Sat.," the National Weather Service said.

Western Mass. will feel close to zero degrees. The Boston area will hover around an apparent temperature of 10 degrees.

The weekend will be chilly before a system makes its way to Massachusetts early next week. Early forecasts are calling for rain with some potential snow mixed in.
