MA Weather Forecast: Flood Watch, Flash Freeze Possible
Major changes in the upcoming forecast is turning what seemed to be a refreshing bout of rain into a dangerous situation.

A flood watch has been put called for all of Southern New England ahead of incoming heavy rains and a "heatwave" that will melt huge mounds of snow, only to give way to a potential flash freeze amid quickly dropping temperatures. The National Weather Service is warning residents to be particularly careful from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon, when 2-4 inches of rain are expected to fall.
The first major bout of rain should come Friday and the second Friday night into Saturday. There will be dense fog throughout the two days.
The storm heads out Saturday night, but a sudden deep drop in temperatures into the 20s could result in a potential flash freeze.

"The combination of moderate to heavy rain forecast on top of snow melt and the possibility of isolated ice jams along arearivers and streams presents the threat of flooding," the NWS wrote Wednesday. Earlier they had announced a hazardous weather outlook.
