MA Weather Forecast: Miserable Marathon Monday Weather Forecast

BOSTON, MA — The weather forecast for the 2018 Boston Marathon is far from pleasant. It'll be cold, rainy, slippery, and windy. Chalk it up to another obstacle runners will be conquering on Patriots Day.

The National Weather Service says heavy rain is expected to fall between the late morning and early afternoon - right as many of the runners cross the Boylston Street finish line. Temperatures will start off in the high 30s and slog into the low 40s by the early afternoon.

The wind chill factor will pose a chillier challenge. Northeast winds are expected to blow between 20-25 miles per hour with gusts of up to of 35 mph, dropping the wind chill to 25-30 degrees in the morning and to the 30s in the afternoon.

Rainy, chilly conditions don't necessarily mean tough running conditions. The 2015 Boston Marathon featured similar conditions and many outstanding performances. Spectators, on the other hand, might beg to differ.
