MA Weather Forecast: 'Enhanced Risk' Of Severe T-Storm Expands

All the way out to Eastern Mass. is under "enhanced risk" of major storms. See the timeline here, and check out where a tornado could land.

After a winter full of rapid-fire brutal storms, Tuesday is here to remind us just how dangerous and volatile the spring weather can be. An "enhanced risk" of severe thunderstorms now spans the majority of Massachusetts, some of which is under the threat of large hail with the very low possibility of a tornado.

You could see some showers over the next few hours leading up to noon, then it will calm down for a bit. The heavy storms will come in during the mid-late afternoon and early evening, and that's when you want to be home if possible. Forecasters have been saying 3 - 9 p.m. will be the time to look out for. You can see the NWS radar simulation below:

The areas under the greatest risk for the most intense storms remain Central and Western Mass., but even as far as Boston has a 100 percent chance of seeing precipitation, according to Weather.com. The rain may not make it out to the Cape.

Tornadoes cannot be ruled out in Western Mass. While it's a low possibility and can be easy to dismiss such a warning, tornadoes do occur in Massachusetts. A tornado hit Conway in Frankline County last February, and there was even one in 2014 that caused damage in Revere.

It'll be be downright steamy at points Tuesday, with temperatures topping 80 degrees. The rest of the week should be partly cloudy with high temperatures varying from the mid-50s to mid-70s. Summer, it appears, it still a ways away.
