MA Weather Forecast: Wild Temperatures, Wind Gusts, And More Snow

From 60+ degrees to 60+ mph wind gusts and even some snow, this has it all.

There's a lot to digest in the newest Massachusetts weather forecasts. Here's what you need to know: Wednesday will see 60 degree temperatures and nearly 60 mile per hour wind gusts. You could also get some thunder today. And the return of snow is more than possible on Friday.

Let's start with the wind. There is a wind advisory and high wind warning in effect across parts of Massachusetts through 4 a.m. Thursday. The strongest winds are expected to be between 8 p.m. tonight and 2 a.m. How strong? Anywhere between 50-60 mph, according to the National Weather Service. That's the kind of power that can lead to downed tree limbs and outages.

Temperatures today were slated to hit the mid-60s and possibly elevate as high as 70 degrees, though they are off to a slow start. It's more of a tease than turning the corner, however. A cold front is expected to crash in tonight and cooler than average temperatures are expected into next week.

You may hear some thunder throughout the day thanks to the warm front that will soon give way to a cold front.

Finally, we'll probably be seeing the return of snow this Friday. Eastern Mass. is expected to only see a dusting of less than an inch, while Central Mass. might get 1-2 inches. That would be snow on April 6, for those keeping score.
