MA Weather: Hazardous Weather Outlook For Thunderstorms, Downpour

Up to 2 inches of rain could fall in areas of the state. Here's when the rain will be at its heaviest.

A hazardous weather outlook has been called for all of Massachusetts east of the Berkshires in advance of what forecasters are saying will be locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. The rainfall, which could get up to between 1-2 inches, will be at its heaviest this afternoon into the evening commute. According to the forecast, tonight's Red Sox game against the White Sox could be at risk.

"Showers and scattered thunderstorms may produce locally heavy rainfall this afternoon into early this evening, which could cause local urban and poor drainage flooding," the National Weather Service said Tuesday morning.

The region most at risk for flooding is Southeastern Mass. Here's how much rain to expect by the end of Tuesday.
