MA Weather: Record Heat And Storms, But Then Some Cooling Off

This hot, humid stretch to begin September will continue into Thursday, but the end is in sight. All we have to do is get through another day of possibly record temperatures and severe thunderstorms.

Wednesday's forecast is for warm weather with temperatures near 90 degrees. Temperatures Thursday are expected to rise into the mid-90s. The forecast high is 94; the record for Sept. 6 is also 94 degrees back in 1983. Heat indices could once again get into the triple digits, meaning it could feel like 100 degrees.

The rain is expected to come between 1-9 p.m. It should be less than a tenth of an inch except for where the storms come in, which isn't clear yet. "A few strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible [Thursday] afternoon/evening," the NWS said.

Then things may begin to cool off. Friday's overnight lows are expected to be in the 40s and 50s with weekend highs in the low 70s.
