MA Weather: Updated Snow Totals Town-By-Town

A winter storm warning is now in effect across much of the state as forecasters call for up to 8 inches today and tonight.

If it's not already snowing where you are, just give it a little longer. Accumulating snow should begin between noon-1 p.m. across Massachusetts, resulting in as many as 8 inches, the National Weather Service said Saturday morning.

Here are the important things to know:

  • Much of the state upgraded to a winter storm warning Friday night, while the rest of the state is in a winter weather advisory and, on the Cape, a hazardous weather outlook.
  • The snow begins from the south and moves north. So you've got a bit longer for your milk and eggs if you're in the Merrimack Valley than, say, the South Shore.
  • The snow will persist through tonight. Sunday morning will see scattered snow showers.
  • If you're on the Cape or even in coastal Plymouth County, you'll see snow turn into the dreaded wintry mix during the afternoon and evening.
  • How much snow can you expect? The NWS issued an expected snowfall map Saturday morning, so you can get an idea of how much your city or town will see.

  • This amount of snow is expected to bring with it travel delays. Whether traveling by ground or air today or tonight, check for possible delays.
