MA Weather: Year's First Snow To Impact Commute
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the state in advance of a modest snow that could make Thursday's commute a problem.

The first snow of 2019 is on the radar. There isn't expected to be major accumulation, but it could impact your Thursday morning commute. The National Weather Service has called for a statewide hazardous weather outlook.
The NWS said to expect "a period of light snow" that could result in 2 inches on the ground, with more certainty of that total north of the Mass Pike. While you shouldn't expect school to be canceled, the NWS said slick roads and reduced visibility will be a problem for those on the road.
"Snow will be ongoing, either changing to rain or tapering off towards midday," the NWS said. "Untreated surfaces will be slick, especially along and north of the Massachusetts Turnpike."

The snow is expected to start overnight - about 2 a.m. for Central and Eastern Massachusetts. It'll taper out around 10 a.m., earlier for the coast. The snow will be mixed with some rain as temperatures straddle freezing. You can see what to expect below.
[Tonight → Thursday] How will the forecast light snow play out? Here's just one forecast model run not to be taken verbatim but rather to illustrate potential trends. Our greatest concern is for the Thursday AM commute across interior MA / CT where light accums are more likely. pic.twitter.com/N7B2C120HS
