Massachusetts Memorial Day Weekend Forecast

The nice weather picked the right time to show up. Memorial Day weekend is off to a terrific start and we'll continue to see temperatures in the 70s and 80s, with the only hiccups being a potentially stormy Saturday night and a shower Sunday afternoon.

Saturday night could see some hit-and-miss showers in the evening and potentially more widespread precipitation after 9 p.m. A thunderstorm could be mixed in.

The real prize of the weekend will be Sunday, with highs in the mid-to-low 80s inland and mid-to-high 70s along the coast. It'll be mostly clear outside of possible shower or two around 2 or 3 p.m.

Memorial Day itself will cool off a bit and be much more like Saturday, with temperatures topping out in the 70s (and 60s along the coast.) Unlike Saturday, Monday should stay clear and sunny the whole way through.

Tonight - Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 5am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5am. Low around 55. Southwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday - A chance of showers before 8am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.

Memorial Day - Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph.

Monday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Light and variable wind.
