Police ID West Dedham Street Shooting Victim

BOSTON, MA — Boston police have identified the man killed last week in a shooting in the South End.

Dion Ruiz, 26, was found shot at a home at 58 West Dedham St. on Aug. 13 near 10 p.m. Ruiz later died at a local hospital, police said.

Boston police have not announced any arrests related to the killing.

Ruiz was the 20th homicide victim in Boston so far in 2022. Boston's last homicide happened the day before Ruiz was shot when Xavier Barkon, 19, of Mattapan, was found with gunshot wounds along Oak Hill Avenue In Mattapan.
