Roads Consulting Group named Minority Owned Business of the Year

BOSTON – The Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Dr. Jose G. Perez, CEO of Roads Consulting Group the 2024 Minority Owned Small Business of the Year for Massachusetts.
Roads Consulting Group earned the recognition for positively influencing and transforming disadvantaged businesses through its strategy consulting work. Initially operating as a home-based business in 2017, Perez established an office space in East Boston in 2021 and today has expanded operations to multiple states including Washington, Texas, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Michigan.

"Roads Consulting Group has been creating positive impacts with disadvantaged communities and workforce development through its work with private, city and state partnerships," said District Director Robert Nelson.
The firm was part of the economic recovery ecosystem, providing technical assistance to small businesses through collaborative partnerships with the City of Boston, Small Business Strong Initiative, Harvard University, Interise, Washington State Department of Commerce, Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development, and the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation.

“Through the partnerships and strategic alliances we have built, Roads has been able to assist and help many business owners around the United States. We are proud to be recognized for such an award and happy that we could contribute to the successful journey of many entrepreneurs. Our journey is personal, of extreme significance and critically impactful," said Dr. Jose G. Perez, CEO of Roads Consulting Group.
Through the establishment of the Chelsea Strong initiative working with the City of Chelsea, Dr. Perez helped address unique challenges in the small business community, helping the city foster an interconnected business ecosystem.
Perez was nominated by Lisa Fulton, Vice President of Business Banking, Eastern Bank.
Perez will be honored at the annual National Small Business Week Massachusetts Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at the Doubletree Andover.
