Several Injured, At Least 1 Seriously, In Boston I-93 Crash: Reports

Lane closures caused heavy delays following the crash, according to reports.

BOSTON, MA — Several were injured, at least one seriously, in a Thursday afternoon crash on Interstate 93 in Boston, according to reports.

Two southbound lanes of I-93 were shut down following the crash, "which caused major delays during the evening commute," according to 7 news Boston.

"Several people were hurt in a crash on I-93 South in Dorchester Thursday, with one person in serious condition, according to the Massachusetts State Police," 7 News Boston reported.

Troopers responded to the crash near Exit 15 about 3:30 p.m., according to NBC Boston.

"There were several injuries reported, state police said," per NBC Boston. "Fire and EMS crews from Boston responded."

The state police at first believed one motorist had been killed in the crash, a Boston 25 News story said.

"Initially, state police said in a statement that one person was killed in the crash," Boston 25 News reported. State police have now issued a correction, saying that the person is now seriously injured.
