Sinkhole In Boston Claims Car After Water Main Break
A portion of Tremont Street in Boston was closed Monday morning due to the incident.

BOSTON, MA — A water main break in the South End Monday morning destabilized Tremont Street and partially swallowed a car.
Boston police closed Tremont between Massachusetts Avenue and Northampton Street due to the incident, and a crane had arrived at the scene around 7 a.m. to remove the damaged car.
The water main break began around 4 a.m., flooding streets and homes around the closed section of Tremont Street. Images from the scene show pavement buckled up and down the block, and the roadway filled with sand and other debris.
