Teen's Murderer Convicted 31 Years Later
James Paige, 51, was faces a life sentence for the 1987 murder of 19-year-old Dora Jean Brimage.

BOSTON, MA — Dora Jean Brimage finally has justice, more than 30 years after her murder. James Paige, 51, was found guilty of first-degree murder under the theory of felony murder in the 19-year-old Brimage's 1987 killing, Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley said. Paige will be sentenced Tuesday, when he will face a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors said Brimage attended a birthday party of a relative of Paige on Sept. 6, 1987 - the day before her body was found by construction workers beaten and strangled inside a Warren Street storefront. She had also been sexually assaulted.
The necessary DNA testing to identify her killer was no available at the time, prosecutors said. But in 2013, the Boston Police Cold Case Squad requested new testing. The DNA profile was matched to Paige, who was in the system following a felony conviction.
