Toddler Girl Found Underwater For 3 Minutes, Flown To Boston Hospital
Off-duty Georgetown and Newbury firefighters arrived to find that the child had been removed from the pool but was unresponsive.
BOSTON, MA — A 3-year-old girl was flown to a Boston hospital Sunday afternoon after she was found to have been submerged underwater for more than three minutes in an above-ground pool in Georgetown, according to local police and fire officials.
Authorities were called just before 5 p.m. to a home on North Street, after which off-duty Georgetown and Newbury firefighters arrived to find that the child had been removed from the pool but was unresponsive.
The firefighters performed CPR and restored the child's pulse and breathing, officials said.

On-duty Georgetown police and fire officials arrived shortly after, rendering care before the child was transported to Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport. From there, she was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.
"Georgetown Fire and Police are actively investigating this incident and have no further comment at this time," officials said Sunday.
