Too Real? Man Touting Replica Gun Arrested

The man had a warrant out for his arrest, but the focus was on his replica gun.

BOSTON, MA — A fake gun that looked a little too real triggered a police response Sunday and resulted with a man in prison.

Transit police responded around 1:15 p.m. to a report of a man with a gun. The officers spotted the man, who was getting on an MBTA bus from Forest Hills. Police approached the man - identified as 20-year-old Fernando Villalona of Roxbury - on the bus and observed what the believed to be a gun in the back of his waistline. Officers discovered the gun to be a replica, but there was a warrant out for Villalona's arrest. The warrant was out of West Roxbury District Court for trespassing. Police placed Villalona under arrest.
