BOSTON, MA — Boston Red Sox shortstop and second baseman Trevor Story, 31, is likely out for the rest of the season, MLB confirmed Tuesday.
Story, who joined the team in 2022, will undergo shoulder surgery Friday and will likely not be able to return for six months, according to MLB.

Though he was initially placed on the 10-day injured list on Saturday due to a left shoulder dislocation, MLB Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow announced Tuesday that he has been since been diagnosed with a fracture of the glenoid rim.
