Unregistered MA Sex Offender Arrested In Back Bay Sex Assault
The 33-year-old was arrested in the South End on charges including failure to register as a sex offender, police said.
BOSTON, MA — A local man arrested Tuesday in a separate matter is now facing charges over a sexual assault that took place in Back Bay on Saturday, according to Boston police.
According to police, Nahom Getaneh was arrested around 2 p.m. Tuesday near Atkinson and Southampton streets near the BU Medical Campus. Getaneh was arrested on two warrants for failure to register as a sex offender and possession of drugs, police said.
Boston police said investigators "established probable cause" to also charge Getaneh with assault with intent to rape and incident assault and battery following an assault near Beacon Street and Public Alley 908 just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
