Whitey Bulger Served Solitary Confinement for Sex Act: Report

The former gangster was caught doing what he said was applying medicine to his genitals, according to a report obtained by The Boston Globe.

BOSTON, MA - Whitey Bulger served 30 days of solitary confinement in his Florida prison for what a corrections officer said was a lewd sexual act, according to a report obtained by The Boston Globe.

The former crime boss has appealed the punishment, which Bulger has already served. A successful appeal would remove the alleged incident from his record.

A male corrections officer making the rounds at 3 a.m. on June 1 noticed the notorious gangster allegedly masturbating in his cell. Bulger argued he was applying medicated powder for a genital irritation.

The former crime boss, serving two life sentences, claimed he was set up and volunteered to take a polygraph test, according to the Globe report.

Bulger, reportedly in poor health, said he believed he developed a yeast infection and bought medicated powder for treatment. He also said he often keeps the lights on overnight because he still suffers from effects of LSD from a CIA-sponsored experiment in the 1950s.
