Why Was Water Gushing Into Boston Sky?

If you were walking near Boston Common and noticed a geyser, you're not crazy.

BOSTON, MA — Were you walking around the city and wondering, "Hm, I don't remember a giant water geyser in the middle of Boston Common?" Don't worry, you're not going crazy.

A tube came loose during routine maintenance work, leading to a "large release of water" around 9:30 a.m. the Boston Water and Sewer Commission said. The BWSC said there has been no disruption of water services to area homes or businesses.

Water service was shut off at the scene of the gush. The "minor repair" was completed a couple hours later.
