Woman's Body Found In Boston Logan Airport Garage, Suspect At Large

Margaret Mbitu's body was found in a garage at Boston Logan Airport Wednesday evening, police said. Her suspected killer is on the loose.

BOSTON, MA — Police are seeking a Lowell man suspected of killing a Whitman woman whose body was found in a garage at Logan Airport Wednesday evening, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police said in a joint news release Thursday.

The victim, Margaret Mbitu, 31, was reported missing by her family Monday, police said. At around 6:30 p.m Wednesday, her body was found in a car in the Central Parking garage at Logan Airport.

Authorities believe that Mbitu's suspected killer, 40-year-old Kevin Kangethe, boarded a flight to Kenya and police are attempting to find him. Meanwhile, state police detectives have obtained a warrant charging him in connection with Mbitu's death.

While the investigation is ongoing, police said that they believe Kangethe and Mbitu knew each other and her killing "was not a random act."

There is no threat to the public or to Logan Airport travelers, according to police.
